About the position

The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics has an immediate opening for an adjunct instructor to teach (1) introductory Microsoft Excel and (1) introductory Microsoft Access to graduate students starting in January 2025. The duties include three hours of in-class lecture and laboratory instruction, evaluation, and administration of a waiver examination. The class meets Monday evenings at the Massry School of Business. The Department of Marketing has an immediate opening for an adjunct instructor to teach Consumer Behavior starting January 2025. The duties include in-class lecture, holding office hours, providing academic support to students, and administering assignments and exams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing principles, consumer psychology, and practical industry experience. The Department of Information Science and Digital Forensics has an immediate opening for an adjunct instructor to teach two sections of Cyber Incident Response to graduate students starting in January 2025. Each section will involve 14 - 15 three hours of in-class lecture and laboratory instruction, evaluation, responding to student questions and grade submission. The requirement is to teach an in-person and online class from 5:45 pm - 8:35 pm at the Massry School of Business. The in-person class meets on Tuesday and the online class meets on Thursday. A syllabus is available on request. Instructor materials would also be available.

Responsibilities

  • Teach introductory Microsoft Excel and Access courses to graduate students
  • Conduct in-class lectures and laboratory instruction
  • Evaluate student performance and administer waiver examinations
  • Teach Consumer Behavior course including lectures and office hours
  • Provide academic support to students and administer assignments and exams
  • Teach Cyber Incident Response in both in-person and online formats
  • Respond to student questions and submit grades

Requirements

  • PhD in relevant field or PhD candidacy is required for Excel and Access courses
  • MBA or master's degree in marketing or closely related field for Consumer Behavior
  • Knowledge of cyber incident response for Cyber Incident Response course
  • Must possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access for Excel and Access courses
  • Past teaching experience preferred for all positions
  • Strong communication skills for all positions

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong background in marketing principles and consumer psychology for Consumer Behavior course
  • Practical industry experience for Consumer Behavior course

  • $1,500 stipend for each 1-credit introductory course from January until May 2025 for Excel and Access courses
