About the position

The Adjunct Faculty position in the Department of Management at St. Edward's University is a part-time role focused on teaching undergraduate courses. The successful candidate will contribute to the educational mission of the university by providing high-quality instruction and support to a diverse student body. This position is continuously open, with appointments made on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon departmental needs and performance. The role emphasizes a commitment to social justice and culturally responsive teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach undergraduate courses in areas such as Introduction to Business, Business Communication, Business Law, Social Responsibility of Business, Human Resources Management, and Organizational Behavior.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.
  • Provide culturally responsive teaching and mentoring services to a diverse student body.
  • Utilize the university's learning management system (Canvas).
  • Maintain professional standards and comply with all policies and procedures of the department, school, and university.
  • Be available on campus for one office hour per week per course taught.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., relevant terminal degree, or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the field of teaching is required.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
