About the position

The Adjunct Mathematics Instructor at Sullivan University is a part-time role focused on facilitating student learning in various educational environments, including face-to-face, online, hybrid, and HyFlex formats. The instructor is responsible for delivering effective instruction, assessing student learning, and providing support to help students progress through their academic programs. This position emphasizes student engagement and collaboration, as well as participation in course and program assessments.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning and deliver effective instruction in various learning environments.
• Evaluate student learning and provide timely feedback on assignments.
• Engage students using instructional techniques such as collaborative and experiential learning.
• Deliver course curriculum through the University's learning management system.
• Participate in course and program level learning assessments and suggest improvements.
• Work with the Dean and Department Chair in course development and material revisions.
• Schedule and supervise students in clinical or field experience settings as appropriate.
• Participate in student retention efforts and document activities related to student support.
• Communicate availability to students through various channels.
• Attend graduation ceremonies and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Master's degree in teaching discipline or a Master's with 18 Sem./24 Qtr. in Teaching Discipline.
• Appropriate experience in the field of mathematics education.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work efficiently in a stressful environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
• Physical ability to sit or stand for long periods and communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with online teaching platforms.
• Familiarity with student engagement techniques.
