About the position

The Adjunct - Mobile Game Apps Development position at Columbus State Community College is designed to provide quality instruction and maintain a positive learning environment for students. The instructor will participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities to enhance their teaching effectiveness. Additionally, the position involves ensuring that the college meets its responsibilities regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion. The faculty member will create an inclusive and equitable learning environment, promote curriculum development that supports diverse learning needs, and maintain a safe and respectful atmosphere for all students and staff. The role may require working days, evenings, or weekends as needed, and the compensation for this position is set at $55.88 per contact hour.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses as scheduled.
  • Designs curriculum that embraces diversity and fosters talent in students.
  • Participates in identifying students with academic needs and utilizes appropriate resources.
  • Maintains accurate attendance records and submits grades timely according to college policies.
  • Distributes and maintains accurate syllabi that incorporate departmental and college requirements.
  • Conducts classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule.
  • Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance.
  • Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning.
  • Refers students to appropriate academic support services available at the College.
  • Attends all department meetings and required trainings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in Mobile App Development.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, C#).
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment.
  • Object-Oriented programming experience and familiarity with design patterns.
  • Ability to contribute significantly to at least one shipped game title or large-scale programming project.
  • Portfolio of released applications on the Apple Store and Google Play store.
  • Experience with iOS and Android development.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to gain access to work site.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mobile app or related programming industry.
  • Experience with game development and design.
