About the position

The Adjunct - Information Systems Technology position focuses on providing quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom. The role emphasizes teaching, supporting, and evaluating students while ensuring effective communication and engagement with diverse student groups. The faculty member is responsible for curriculum design, student advisement, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere that promotes academic success.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses as scheduled.
  • Designs curriculum that embraces diversity and fosters talent in students.
  • Participates in identifying students with academic needs and utilizes appropriate resources.
  • Uses technology effectively in course delivery and communicates expectations to students.
  • Maintains accurate attendance and grading records in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Distributes and maintains accurate syllabi that meet various requirements.
  • Conducts classes punctually and according to the prescribed schedule.
  • Employs assessment techniques to measure student performance against course objectives.
  • Engages in periodic meetings with department leadership regarding teaching duties and professional development.
  • Creates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active learning and student interaction.
  • Refers students to appropriate academic support services.
  • Ensures a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in Mobile App Development.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, C#).
  • Experience in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment.
  • Object-Oriented programming experience and familiarity with design patterns.
  • Significant contribution to at least one shipped game title or large-scale programming project.
  • Industry experience in mobile app development or related fields.
  • Portfolio of released applications on the Apple Store and Google Play store.
  • Experience with iOS and Android development.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to access work sites.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $55.88 per contact hour.
  • Maximum of 12 contact hours per week.
