Randolph Community College is seeking part-time faculty to teach in the Phlebotomy Technology program at the Archdale campus. The position requires a flexible schedule and offers compensation that is commensurate with education and experience. The instructor will be responsible for preparing a course that meets the requirements of National Phlebotomy Board Certification agencies, preferably ASCP or ASPT. This includes preparing a syllabus and pacing guide, selecting textbooks, and delivering lessons that are structured to prepare students for the National Phlebotomy Certification exam. The instructor will also assess student performance throughout the course. In addition to classroom instruction, the instructor will prepare laboratory sessions aimed at familiarizing students with all phlebotomy equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Instruction will include supervised practice in various techniques such as venipuncture with the ETS system, syringe with needle, butterfly, blood cultures, and capillary punctures. The instructor will ensure that students are ready to participate constructively in clinical on-site training. The role also involves partnering with healthcare facilities for supervised on-site clinical training, ensuring that students meet all healthcare facility onboarding requirements, and establishing written schedules for clinical times and assignments. The instructor will oversee clinical training, respond to any training issues, and ensure that clinical hours and venipunctures are recorded and feedback is acquired. Other responsibilities include ordering supplies, maintaining attendance and scholastic records, and staying current with hospital and healthcare phlebotomy practices. The instructor will also submit all required reports to the college.
