About the position

The Adjunct Professor of Computer-Aided Technology - Drone Instructor at Oklahoma City Community College is responsible for providing quality instruction in unmanned vehicle systems and drone technology. This role emphasizes supporting student learning, managing course curricula, and contributing to the development of academic programs. The adjunct faculty member is expected to foster a positive learning environment and promote the mission of the college while accommodating various learning styles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality instruction in courses related to unmanned vehicle systems and drone technology.
  • Manage program and course curricula by writing course syllabi.
  • Contribute to developing, implementing, and evaluating approved academic programs.
  • Participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes for the program and/or department.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to information requests from program, division, and College administrators.
  • Attend meetings as required and acquire new knowledge and skills as appropriate for the academic discipline.
  • Maintain license or professional certification specific to program requirements.
  • Support the College's vision, mission, goals, and priorities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in aerospace, aviation, business, unmanned vehicle systems, robotics, or related field.
  • Current Pilot's License or FAA Part 107 License.
  • 2 years professional experience working with unmanned or drone systems.
  • Experience in the field of unmanned vehicle or drone systems.
  • Demonstrated positive human relations and communication skills.
  • Flexible teaching style to accommodate individual learning styles.
  • Commitment to helping students achieve their goals and attain a college education.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn computer programs used in the department and on campus (such as Moodle).
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate concepts in an organized manner.
