About the position

The Adjunct Professor of Computer Science - Programming at Oklahoma City Community College is primarily responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in programming courses. This role supports the integrity of curricula, encourages student success, and promotes the mission of the College. The adjunct faculty member is expected to engage with students, maintain effective communication, and fulfill various departmental obligations, including office hours and committee participation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in programming courses agreed upon with the Department Chair and Dean.
  • Administer program and course curricula in accordance with published course syllabi.
  • Contribute to developing, implementing, and evaluating approved academic programs.
  • Participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes for the program and/or department.
  • Provide timely responses to information requests from program, division, and College administrators.
  • Attend meetings as required and acquire new knowledge and skills as appropriate for the academic discipline.
  • Maintain license or professional certification specific to program requirements.
  • Support the College's vision, mission, goals, and priorities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or a related area.
  • Experience in the field of programming and teaching/instruction.
  • Availability to teach courses on campus, online, or at offsite locations.
  • Ability to maintain effective communication with supervisors, department, and division office.
  • Flexible teaching style to accommodate diverse learning methodologies and technology.
  • Experience with standard computer software applications like operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated positive communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
