About the position

The General Manager/Director at Atlantic Aviation is responsible for the overall management, operation, maintenance, and financial performance of the FBO facility and services at Teterboro Airport. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, leading staff, managing operations, and fostering a culture of safety and service. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to enhance financial performance while maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and facilitate performance of the Operations Manager and other direct reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Foster a work culture based on Atlantic values with an emphasis on safety and service.
  • Lead all aspects of union relations and negotiations for the location.
  • Evaluate and execute opportunities to improve the site's financial performance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between local and corporate staff.
  • Represent Atlantic Aviation in a professional manner.
  • Communicate work progress and significant issues with the Regional Manager or corporate representatives.
  • Accountable for adherence to Atlantic standards and SOPs by all site staff.
  • Manage inventory, fuel operations, quality control, and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain corporate standards for the upkeep of the FBO ramp, facilities, and equipment.
  • Approve and monitor contracts with Third Party Service Providers.
  • Monitor traffic on the ramp and assist as needed.
  • Participate in Airport Emergency Tabletop & Live exercises.
  • Function as the Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with safety culture and audits.
  • Conduct regular Safety Briefings and maintain readiness for emergencies.
  • Create initiatives to improve revenue sources and assist in regional marketing efforts.
  • Interact with customers to measure satisfaction and develop loyalty.
  • Monitor and control labor costs, staff scheduling, and employee turnover rates.
  • Prepare annual operating budget and monitor financial performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • At least ten years of progressive experience in FBO Management or the aviation/airline industry.
  • Experience managing 30+ employees.
  • Union relations experience highly desired.
  • Demonstrated financial, administrative, and management capability.
  • Knowledgeable about various types of General Aviation Aircraft.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check.
  • Aptitude in managing and developing staff.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
