The Admin/Accounting/Payroll Specialist position at a growing CPA firm in Merrillville, IN, involves managing client interactions, payroll processing, and tax filings. The role is designed for individuals who enjoy working with the public and have a strong background in accounting and payroll functions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate client interaction and scheduling at the front desk.
  • Process payroll for clients, both live and after the fact.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll and sales tax filings, including W-2, 941, 940, and SUTA.
  • Maintain and write up client general ledgers.
  • Perform account and bank reconciliations.

Requirements

  • 1 year of accounting experience (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Accounting CS, Ultra Tax, Drake Tax, and QuickBooks software.
