About the position

The Admin Support Specialist I - Sr Reception is primarily responsible for providing administrative support in a veterinary medical setting. This role involves greeting clients, admitting and dismissing patients, collecting payments, scheduling appointments, and communicating messages to faculty and clinicians. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage various clerical duties effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and provide a welcoming environment.
  • Admit and dismiss patients from the veterinary medical hospital.
  • Collect payments for services rendered.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
  • Answer phone calls and communicate necessary messages to faculty and clinicians.
  • Review all charges and fee estimates with clients.
  • Discuss payment policies with clients and collect additional deposits when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of related work experience in customer service and/or clerical duties.
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for required years of experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multi-line phone systems.
  • Experience with MS Office applications.
  • Background experience with large animals is necessary.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing on a ladder, stooping, bending, and working overhead.

Nice-to-haves

  • Eight years of clerical/customer service experience.
  • Completion of Ambassador Program and Leadership Development Program.
