About the position

The Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) plays a critical role in the financial management of the hospital, ensuring that all financial operations align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for overseeing the financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes, as well as managing the financial health of the institution. The ACFO will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other senior management to develop financial strategies that support the hospital's mission and objectives. In addition to financial oversight, the ACFO will lead a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The role requires a strong understanding of healthcare finance, including reimbursement methodologies, cost accounting, and financial analysis. The ACFO will also be involved in strategic planning initiatives, helping to identify opportunities for financial improvement and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. The ACFO will be expected to present financial information to the board of directors and other key stakeholders, making it essential to have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. This position may require flexibility in working hours, as financial reporting deadlines and meetings may occur outside of regular business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related area required.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of prior management experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required.
  • Experience as a hospital Controller preferred.
  • CPA certification preferred.
