About the position

The Administrative Aid position within the State of Nevada's Department of Taxation involves a variety of clerical, secretarial, and administrative support duties. This role is essential for the smooth operation of the agency, providing support in various capacities including cashiering, telephone reception, and front counter reception. The position is located in Las Vegas and may also involve work in Boulder City, Indian Springs, Jean, and Henderson. As part of the administrative team, the incumbent will work closely with other administrative aids, providing backup and assistance as needed. The role requires a degree of knowledge and proficiency that allows for independent work with minimal training. Due to Executive Order 2024-06, all minimum qualifications for this position have been waived until December 31, 2024, allowing for a broader pool of applicants. Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical, secretarial, and administrative support duties in the Department of Taxation.
  • Function as a cashier, telephone receptionist, and front counter receptionist.
  • Provide backup support to other Administrative Aids as needed.
  • Assist in the processing of transactions and handling of cash.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
  • Six months of general clerical experience; OR six months of experience as a Clerical Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

Nice-to-haves
