About the position

The Administrative Aide (CCU) in Material Management is responsible for supporting various activities related to the management of materials, supplies, and equipment within the hospital. This role involves tasks such as receiving, storing, and issuing materials, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of storerooms. The position requires direct supervision and is essential for the efficient operation of patient care units.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving, storing, and issuing materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Take inventories and maintain stock records using the barcode system.
  • Prepare, fill, and file storeroom requisitions for delivery to patient care units.
  • Conduct spot checks of perpetual inventory and actual inventory.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and maintain cleanliness in storerooms and dock areas.
  • Check conditions of supplies before delivery and ensure goods are not outdated.
  • Deliver supplies to patient care units and stock shelves according to FIFO policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of hospital complex and storeroom procedures.
  • Ability to operate delivery equipment.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy merchandise.
