About the position

The Administrative Aide (CCU) in Material Management at Cook County Government is responsible for supporting various activities related to the management of materials, supplies, and equipment within the hospital. This role involves inventory management, supply delivery, and maintaining cleanliness in storerooms, ensuring that patient care units are adequately stocked and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving, storing, and issuing materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment.
  • Take inventories and maintain stock records using the barcode system.
  • Prepare, fill, and file storeroom requisitions and pick lists for delivery to patient care units.
  • Conduct spot checks of perpetual inventory and actual inventory.
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts.
  • Clean storerooms and dock areas, ensuring they are orderly and free of debris.
  • Check conditions of supplies before delivery and ensure they are not outdated.
  • Deliver supplies to patient care units and stock shelves according to FIFO policies.
  • Assist in other work activities of Materiel Management.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Knowledge of hospital complex and storeroom procedures.
  • Ability to operate delivery equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic operations.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy merchandise.
