Under general direction of assigned supervisor, the Administrative Aide I performs a wide variety of general administrative duties for the Building Division. The Administrative Aide I position is an Individual Contributor role that provides courteous and efficient internal and external customer service on the phone and in person. Their role enables the public and city employees to experience the highest quality of service by serving as the first point of contact for the Building Division. The Building Division of the Community Development Department monitors development activity in the City of Santa Maria. The Division is responsible for ensuring that development projects have the required permits and conform to approved plans. The Administrative Aide I position will be stationed at the Building Division's front counter. This position will be responsible for providing customer support services to developers, the public, outside agencies, and City staff.
