About the position

The Administrative Aide II position at NYU's Graduate Enrollment Services department involves performing a variety of clerical, secretarial, and general office duties to support recruitment, admissions, and financial aid services for students. The role requires responding to inquiries with a comprehensive understanding of departmental activities and assisting in the prioritization and delegation of office tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical, secretarial, and general office duties to support recruitment, admissions, and financial aid services.
  • Respond to inquiries with knowledge of the department's activities, policies, and programs.
  • Assist in prioritizing office activities and delegate tasks to student and/or casual employees.
  • Compose letters and correspondence as needed.
  • Perform general word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry duties using intermediate-level functions.
  • Monitor moderately complex budgets and/or grants.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of office experience required, with a focus on customer service.
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications required.
  • Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding skills required.
  • Good proofreading and writing skills required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of office experience with an Associate's degree or 1+ years with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Apple preferred.
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Access preferred.
