About the position

The Administrative Aide position at the Maryland Department of the Environment involves providing essential administrative and secretarial support to the Program and Deputy Program Managers. The role is designed to enhance the efficiency of the management team by allowing them to focus on critical program demands. The position requires minimal supervision and includes responsibilities such as managing communications, scheduling, and various clerical tasks, while also necessitating the ability to drive a State vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of administrative and secretarial support functions for the Program and Deputy Program Managers.
  • Handle communications and scheduling for the management team.
  • Perform clerical tasks including typing and filing.
  • Drive a State vehicle as required for job functions.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Four years of experience performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.
  • Ability to accurately type on a keyboard at a minimum of forty words per minute.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using FMIS.
  • Experience filing MDE VISA reports.
  • Experience filing MDE fleet reports.
  • Experience using a multi-line phone.
  • Experience scheduling meetings using a calendar application (e.g. Google calendar).
