About the position

The Administrative Aide serves as the principal staff assistant to a Commissioner of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, coordinating daily activities, managing inquiries, and representing the Commissioner in various capacities. This role involves significant interaction with the public, state agencies, and legislative bodies, ensuring effective communication and understanding of Commission processes and decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily activities of a Commissioner's office.
  • Develop, prioritize, assign, or perform investigative or research work.
  • Respond to inquiries concerning Commission rulings or complaints.
  • Provide information to the public and collect feedback on Commission rulings.
  • Act as the Commissioner's representative at public meetings and to the media.
  • Assist the Commissioner in maintaining contact with other State agencies and the Legislature.
  • Serve as a liaison to various Commission Divisions or Departments.
  • Represent the Commissioner on agency task forces, committees, or work groups.
  • Research Commission records and provide relevant information regarding issues before the Commission.
  • Analyze and interpret evidence or proposals before the Commission.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Baccalaureate degree in business or public administration, political science, or related fields.
  • Two years of experience in public relations or a public-oriented position.
  • Considerable knowledge of effective research techniques, statutes, rules, and regulations governing the Commission's activities.
  • Considerable skills in analyzing problems and adopting appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to communicate research findings both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to effectively present Commission determinations or rulings at public meetings.

Benefits

  • Annual Salary: Up to $130,675, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
