About the position

Accelerated Learning Center, an alternative high school dedicated to providing innovative educational pathways, is seeking a motivated and skilled Registrar/Administrative Assistant. This role is essential for managing our student information systems and supporting the administrative needs of our school. The ideal candidate will have experience in an alternative high school setting and bring a high level of professionalism and organization to the team. In this position, you will manage and maintain student records and databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with educational standards and regulations. You will utilize the Synergy student information system to input, retrieve, and report on student data; experience with Synergy is preferred. Additionally, you will assist with the enrollment and transfer process for new and returning students, preparing reports and statistics related to student enrollment, attendance, and academic progress. As a point of contact for students, parents, and staff, you will provide high-level communication and prompt resolution of inquiries and issues. You will also support school administrative functions, including scheduling, organizing meetings, and maintaining files. Collaboration with academic and administrative staff to enhance student services and school operations will be a key part of your role. The ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changes in administrative procedures is essential. The working hours for this position are from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain student records and databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with educational standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Registrar or in a similar role at an alternative high school preferred.
  • Required experience with student information systems; familiarity with Synergy is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and a professional demeanor.
  • Friendly and approachable personality with a commitment to fostering a supportive educational environment.
  • Quick learner, capable of grasping new concepts and systems efficiently.
