About the position

The Administrative Aide position involves routine clerical and office support work of ordinary difficulty. This role includes tasks such as typing, filing, sorting and distributing paperwork, answering the telephone, and greeting the public. The assignments typically follow standard work routines in accordance with established procedures and are performed under direct or general supervision. The position is part-time and is located in Ocoee, FL, with a salary range of $15.00 to $19.39 hourly. The job requires the ability to manage various clerical tasks efficiently while maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with the public and other employees. The essential functions of the Administrative Aide include preparing and typing correspondence and reports that are routine or repetitive in nature. The aide will sort and route paperwork and mail through the proper channels, file paperwork and correspondence, and maintain an organized filing system. Additionally, the aide may be responsible for ordering office supplies and keeping records of transactions. Answering the telephone and routing callers to the appropriate channels is also a key responsibility. The aide may maintain a comprehensive filing system and minor databases for the assigned unit, serving as a receptionist by greeting and answering inquiries from the public related to departmental operations and procedures. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary, provided they are logical and appropriate for the position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with some experience or training in the operation of a personal computer; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to use correct grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with the public and employees with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to perform posting and other detail work with speed and accuracy.
