About the position

The Quality Control (QC) Administrative Assistant for Asphalt and Paving Operations plays a vital role in organizing and maintaining quality control documents, tracking daily test results, and ensuring effective communication between divisions. This position is essential for inputting test results into FDOT templates and maintaining an organized archive of documentation, contributing to the overall safety and quality of construction operations.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with and actively promote all Safety policies and procedures, reporting all accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
  • Provide general administrative support to the QC department.
  • Organize, maintain, and update QC documents and records, including an organized archive system.
  • Track and record all daily test results related to asphalt and paving operations, such as straightedge, cross slope, densities, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with different divisions to facilitate edits or revisions to QC reports.
  • Receive and accurately input test results from roadway technicians into FDOT templates.
  • Ensure timely communication of QC results and reports to all interested parties.
  • Assist in the preparation of QC-related correspondence, memos, reports, and presentations, which may require gathering data from various internal and/or external sources.
  • Proofread content for accuracy and established formatting standards.
  • Copy, scan, and distribute QC documents as needed.
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the corporation, or as otherwise directed.
  • Meet regularly with the QC Manager to review ongoing tasks and priorities.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Office 365 productivity suite.
  • Experience with FDOT templates and requirements preferred.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam software preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through are essential.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Capable of working independently on multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to adapt to different personalities and management styles.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, and hardworking.
  • Above-average organizational skills.
