About the position

Contra Costa County is offering an excellent employment opportunity for qualified individuals interested in the Administrative Analyst position. There are vacancies located in various departments throughout the County, including: Employment and Human Services, Sheriff, Contra Costa Health, Probation, and Public Works. Administrative Analysts work under close supervision and receive instructions on the priority of projects, the nature and purpose of studies, and work methods and techniques required to complete assignments. Study findings and recommendations are carefully reviewed.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering, tabulating, and analyzing data
  • Writing reports, drafting policies, procedures, bulletins, and manuals
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and submitting recommendations on organizational needs including programs, finance, personnel, facilities, and equipment requirements
  • Entering data, tracking, analyzing, and making recommendations based on data
  • Interpreting legislation and making recommendations on policies
  • Preparing, writing, and organizing reports for public consumption
  • Managing contract and grant administrative duties

Requirements

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration or public administration, or a closely related field
  • Successful completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university which included at least one three semester unit or four and one-half quarter unit course transferable to accredited four year college or university in English composition, business or public administration, political science or government, mathematics or statistics, and psychology or behavioral science
  • Two years full time experience or its equivalent in an administrative or staff capacity performing administrative, personnel or budgetary analysis which included the research, analysis and preparation of written reports

Nice-to-haves
