About the position

The Administrative Assistant 1 position with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania offers an opportunity to provide essential administrative support within the Department of Environmental Protection, specifically in the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation. The role involves a variety of complex administrative duties, research, and serving as a liaison for the Bureau's Right-Know-Requests, contributing to the effective functioning of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Assess administrative or personnel operations and procedures.
  • Develop and propose work standards and protocols.
  • Perform research and analyses related to the Bureau's Acid Mine Drainage Division.
  • Prepare open commitment reports and recommendations.
  • Serve as a liaison for the Bureau's Right-Know-Requests.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree will be considered to have met the educational requirements.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Benefits

  • Full-time employment with a starting annual salary of $44,890.00 (before taxes).
  • Opportunity for part-time telework (up to 3 days a week) with a securely configured high-speed internet connection.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
