About the position

The Administrative Assistant 3 position at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is crucial for coordinating and managing Clerkships and Electives for the M.D. program. This role involves organizing clinical education experiences for medical students across various specialties and locations, ensuring smooth operations under the supervision of the Clerkship Director. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with students, residents, and healthcare providers, contributing to the overall success of medical education.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage Clerkships and Electives for the M.D. program.
  • Schedule students in collaboration with clinics and hospitals.
  • Manage evaluations through specialized software.
  • Synthesize program information for operational-level analysis and reporting to leadership.
  • Serve as a liaison between medical students, residents, and providers.
  • Support directors, faculty, and students in their activities.
  • Contribute to monthly Clerkship and Elective Curriculum Committee meetings.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience.
  • Experience in maintenance of complex records and files.
  • Experience in public/customer relations, including explaining detailed policies and regulations.
  • Experience in preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll and budgeting forms.
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
