About the position

Cedar Crest College is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the academic departments of Art and Performing Arts. This role involves assisting department Chairs and faculty, serving as a liaison between departments and administrative offices, and providing student services. The position also includes support for the Master of Arts in Art Therapy program, ensuring smooth coordination of various academic and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide positive customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
  • Assist with the daily procedures and operations of the College for undergraduate majors.
  • Manage department resources, purchases, and reimbursements.
  • Provide direction and guidance to work-study students as necessary.
  • Support the Masters of Art in Art Therapy (MAAT) program by maintaining schedules and records.
  • Handle contracts, invoices, and check requests in a timely manner.
  • Update databases with current information and provide outreach support as needed.
  • Act as a representative and contact for the academic departments within the College and with third-party vendors.
  • Perform special tasks as assigned by an individual Chair or academic leadership.

Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Superior organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently.
  • Knowledge of the visual arts and a general understanding of studio facilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and graphic design software (Creative Suite - In Design, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent with applicable experience is required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
