About the position

The Administrative Assistant for the Clerk of Courts in Monroe County is a part-time role focused on providing administrative support within the circuit court system. This position involves serving as the receptionist, handling incoming calls and public inquiries, and assisting with various clerical tasks related to court records and billing.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the receptionist for the department, accepting and screening incoming telephone calls and public walk-ins.
  • Complete search requests and prepare vouchers for copies and quarterly copy billings.
  • Issue receipts for criminal searches conducted through mail and walk-ins.
  • Assist the Clerk of Court in preparing records for transmittal to the court of appeals.

Requirements

  • One year of court-related experience is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience that provides comparable knowledge and abilities will also be considered.
