About the position

The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as an administrative professional. This role involves performing a variety of technical and specialized professional and administrative duties for the South Carolina Boards of Dentistry and Veterinary Medical Examiners. The position supports the agency's mission to ensure a safe working environment in South Carolina by managing application processes, responding to customer inquiries, and assisting with board operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process initial, reinstatement, renewal, and registration applications for the Dentistry Board.
  • Respond to customer inquiries through various communication methods, providing accurate information on application and licensing requirements.
  • Communicate examination scores and process license verification requests.
  • Assist with notices of appearance and final order hearings, and log disciplinary compliance issues.
  • Prepare correspondence and reports, assist with Board meetings, and process travel vouchers and FOIA requests.
  • Review and update the Dentistry Board's website weekly.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.
  • A bachelor's degree may substitute for the related work experience.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience in administrative functions.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies of the applicable boards.
  • Considerable data entry and research skills.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment, computers, and software programs.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize work activities, and prioritize tasks.
  • Judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four (4) years of experience directly related to the area of employment.
