About the position

The Administrative Assistant for eLearning at Gateway Community and Technical College plays a crucial role in supporting the eLearning and Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) departments. This position involves managing course logistics, facilitating communication, and assisting Deans with the assignment of part-time faculty for online courses. The role is designed to ensure the smooth operation of online education initiatives and support faculty and student needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Deans to assign part-time faculty to online courses based on course requirements and faculty expertise.
  • Perform course copy, preparation, launch, and conduct periodic checks to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Coordinate and support eLearning and TLS initiatives, including trainings and professional development events.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, tracking attendance and writing contracts for course developments.
  • Take minutes during meetings and coordinate monthly eLearning team and TLS meetings.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects efficiently.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors Degree and 3-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with students from diverse populations.
  • Experience in a community college environment.
