About the position

The Resource Center Compensation Program Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in providing program-related information and claims assistance to individuals applying for benefits under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICP) Act of 2000. This position involves general office duties, including client interaction, data management, and support for outreach activities, all while ensuring the protection of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting clients
  • Handling routine inquiries via telephone and in person
  • Arranging schedules for client interviews with the Caseworkers, Assistant Manager, and Resource Center Manager
  • Scanning, storing and retrieving information and records
  • Entering specific claimant information in government databases
  • Handling/processing the transmittal/shipment of claimant information packages
  • Maintaining an adequate inventory of consumable supplies and required forms
  • Assisting with resource center outreach activities as directed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Resource Center Manager

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year administrative support experience
  • Minimum 1 year answering phones in an office environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience working at or for a Department of Energy facility covered by the EEOICP preferred
  • Associate's degree or equivalent preferred
