About the position

The Administrative Assistant I position at The Salvation Army involves performing a variety of clerical and secretarial tasks to support office operations. This part-time role is essential for maintaining efficient office functions and providing assistance to staff and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of clerical and secretarial work
  • Performs typing and filing as a majority of the responsibilities
  • Processes a variety of routine paperwork necessary for office operations
  • Prepares minutes for meetings
  • Files and records information
  • Answers the telephone and provides general information regarding the office operations and/or services
  • Processes incoming/outgoing mail for an assigned area

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Two years of experience performing secretarial work in a general office
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Valid State Driver's License

Nice-to-haves

  • Supplemental secretarial or administrative courses preferred
