About the position

The Administrative Assistant II position at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission involves providing independent administrative support to management within the Division of Law Enforcement. The role includes managing property inventory, assisting with regional correspondence, and ensuring accurate documentation and confidentiality. The position also requires participation in professional development and collaboration across divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist management in handling and coordinating administrative functions in the Division of Law Enforcement.
  • Serve as the Regional Property Custodian, managing and tracking all property in the region.
  • Assist regional personnel with property, inventory, and yearly scanning.
  • Maintain and distribute SFWMD keys and draft various regional correspondence.
  • Order body armor and body cameras for regional personnel and assist with bulk orders.
  • Encourage agency participation across division lines for outreach opportunities.
  • Attend staff meetings, complete and submit required reports, and participate in professional development courses.
  • Act as the regional back-up for travel authorizations and reimbursements.

Requirements

  • Experience in administrative support or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with property management and inventory tracking.
  • Familiarity with state agency operations and procedures.
