About the position

The Temporary Administrative Assistant II position at the Colorado Department of Revenue is designed for individuals who thrive in a customer-focused environment. This role involves providing clerical support, data entry, and customer service to assist taxpayers in navigating tax-related processes. The position is integral to the operations of the Service Centers, which aim to promote voluntary compliance with tax laws through education and assistance. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a high-volume office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and route incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Scan and attach documents and create work items in GenTax on Taxpayer accounts.
  • Review Power of Attorney forms received by mail, fax, and via the web for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare Power of Attorney documents by scanning, attaching, and entering necessary data in GenTax on the Taxpayer's account.
  • Provide waiting room attendant and front desk coverage as needed.
  • Process PDFs from Fax Forward and attach in GenTax to the Taxpayer account.
  • Perform office inventory including general supplies, technology, and printer equipment.
  • Assist in the Void/Reissue process.

Requirements

  • Two years of General Clerical work experience.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service.
  • Data entry experience, including entering information into a program or database.
  • Regular daily work responsibilities utilizing equipment and software used in offices, such as Google Apps and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Typing professional emails, letters, reports, briefings, forms, memoranda, etc.
  • Reviewing and comparing data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Gathering specified information and compiling routine reports.
