About the position

The Administrative Assistant III position at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is responsible for supporting various programs within the School of Public Health, including the MPH, HCA, MHA, and EMHA programs. This role involves maintaining graduate and alumni records, assisting faculty and students, coordinating events, and managing administrative tasks related to program operations. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain graduate and alumni records for MPH, HCA, MHA, and EMHA programs.
  • Retrieve and provide accreditation-specific information to graduate coordinators.
  • Manage employment documents for part-time instructors and temporary employees.
  • Schedule classes and manage the School's TEC room calendar.
  • Coordinate orientation, training, and School events.
  • Submit purchasing requisitions, payment requests, and expense reimbursements.
  • Provide information to walk-ins, telephone callers, and the general public regarding the programs.
  • Assist academic faculty with grant-specific employment documents and travel documents.
  • Support in organizing and coordinating special events and activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in maintenance of complex records and files, public/customer relations, and preparation of financial documents.
  • Experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Workday, Archibus, MyUNLV, PeopleSoft, UNLV Analytics, Google Mail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to provide work direction and training to others.
