About the position

The Administrative Assistant / Medical Receptionist position at Norwalk Sports & Spine involves providing administrative support in a multi-disciplined physical medicine and rehabilitation facility. The role focuses on managing patient interactions, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth operations within the clinic, particularly during Friday and Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones and responding to emails
  • Preparing new patient files and filing all patient paperwork
  • Preparing insurance forms for patients as requested and fulfilling required insurance authorizations in a timely manner
  • Managing patient correspondence, appointment booking, and confirmation
  • Collecting fees from patients

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of administrative experience within a healthcare setting, preferably in chiropractic or physical therapy
  • Proficient in electronic health records and medical scheduling software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office on both PC and MAC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven experience with insurance billing and insurance authorizations

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical billing and coding certificate
