About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Nashville Veterinary Specialists will support the growing veterinary hospital teams by managing various administrative functions, including employee scheduling, recruitment, and performance reviews. This role is integral to maintaining a positive work culture and ensuring effective communication within the hospital leadership team. The position emphasizes the importance of the human-animal bond and the health of both patients and staff, aligning with the organization's mission to improve continuously in all aspects of their work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee scheduling and time off requests.
  • Assist department leaders with scheduling questions and needs.
  • Act as backup for client concerns and questions.
  • Screen and perform initial interviews on staff candidates.
  • Coordinate onsite interviews and travel arrangements for candidates.
  • Maintain records of in-process candidates and extend offers as needed.
  • Prepare materials for yearly and 90-day reviews for management.
  • Assist management with meeting preparations and presentations.
  • Organize staff events and provide feedback on employee performance.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years in administrative support or veterinary experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ethical mindset.
  • Detail-oriented and goal-oriented with a team spirit.
  • Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a veterinary setting.
