About the position

The Administrative Assistant to the Director at the School of Education in the College of Applied Human Sciences at West Virginia University plays a vital role in supporting the director and ensuring the smooth operation of the school. This position involves collaboration with faculty, program coordinators, and administrative staff to manage academic services, accreditation tasks, financial services, and overall administrative support within the unit.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SLI coordinator for school course scheduling for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
  • Work with the school director and program coordinators to determine course offerings and coordinate scheduling of instructors and rooms.
  • Support faculty and students with registration issues, including answering queries and correcting errors in the CLSS system.
  • Assist faculty with scheduling, edits to the WVU catalog, and program handbooks, initiating annual revisions.
  • Coordinate the collection of school-, college-, and university-related forms, serving as the contact for all forms.
  • Manage student files and records, ensuring compliance with WVU records and retention requirements.
  • Maintain program data tracking, compiling student data for school evaluation at the beginning and end of each semester.
  • Perform other program and curricular support tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Proficiency in using academic management systems and databases.
