About the position

The Administrative Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the Refugee Support Services program at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark. This role involves assisting with client communication, document production, and maintaining program files, as well as drafting letters and participating in team meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Intake Coordinator and Case Workers with client communication
  • Assisting clients with document production process
  • Creating and maintaining program files
  • Following up with clients regarding appointments and outstanding information
  • Drafting program advisal, termination, and referral letters
  • Participating in and contributing to team meetings
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working in a non-profit or government setting is preferred but not required.
