The Pastoral Care Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Pastoral Care Department at Signature Healthcare. This position involves managing administrative tasks to enhance the efficiency of the department, which is integral to the Interdisciplinary Care Team across the hospital and Cancer Center. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, ensuring that the department meets its operational standards while providing compassionate support to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all administrative needs of the Pastoral Care Department.
  • Provides information and assistance to the Volunteers, Staff and the Public.
  • Organizes and establishes a process for consistent file management.
  • Maintains office supplies and religious literature.
  • Oversees the use and maintenance of the Pastoral Care Office and Chapel.
  • Refers questions and/or problems to the Manager of Pastoral Care.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • One to Two years of advanced administrative experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Word and Excel; Meditech.
