About the position

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Office Clerk for a full-time contract position located in Trenton, NJ. The anticipated start date for this role is September 2, 2024, although this date is subject to change. The expected duration of the contract is over 11 months, with a high possibility for extension. The pay range for this position is between $18.48 and $20.00 per hour, depending on various factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities. This role requires a minimum of one year of experience in a similar position. The Office Clerk will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include organizing and filing applications and documents, creating new folders for filing, and ensuring the privacy and security of sensitive documents. The role requires the ability to stand, bend, and climb a ladder for extended periods, as well as the capability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Office Clerk will utilize alphabetical and numerical systems to organize paper documents and will be responsible for checking and correcting documentation, retrieving files as requested, and discarding documents in accordance with official procedures. Candidates must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a dedication to preserving information and materials. Clear handwriting and the ability to read and understand a wide range of materials are essential. Verbal communication and interpersonal skills, along with research and critical thinking abilities, are also important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and files applications and documents.
  • Creates new folders to be filed.
  • Secures and protects the privacy of documents.
  • Discards documents when required in accordance with official procedures.
  • Checks and corrects documentation and placement of previously filed documents.
  • Retrieves files as requested.
  • Uses alphabetical and numerical systems to organize paper documents.
  • Shifts folders as required to make space.
