About the position

The Administrative Clerk position at Sciolex Corporation is a full-time role dedicated to supporting the mission of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within a local Field Office. As an Administrative Clerk, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall functioning of the office, including the retrieval and organization of government-requested files, which are essential for the processing of immigration applications and naturalization ceremonies. In this role, you will engage in activities such as re-shelving files returned by government personnel and connecting incoming correspondence to the appropriate shelved files. You will also play a key role in preparing for and conducting naturalization ceremonies, which includes printing and distributing naturalization certificates and retrieving necessary documentation from applicants. Your support during these ceremonies will involve escorting applicants and collecting and logging green cards, ensuring that the process runs smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, you will assist in the processing of various forms and applications used in the adjudication process, which is vital for the timely and accurate handling of immigration cases. The position may also require you to scan large multi-page documents and perform other duties as assigned, making it a dynamic role that requires adaptability and attention to detail. Responsibilities

  • Retrieving and bundling government-requested files and staging them for government personnel.
  • Re-shelving files returned by government personnel.
  • Connecting incoming correspondence to shelved files.
  • Performing tasks related to preparing for and conducting naturalization ceremonies, including printing and distribution of naturalization certificates and the retrieval of documentation from applicants.
  • Providing support at naturalization ceremonies such as escorting applicants and collecting and logging green cards.
  • Providing support for the processing of forms and applications used in the adjudication process.
  • Scanning large multi-page documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust/Suitability Clearance under the Department of Homeland Security from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • Ability to read and understand proficiently in English.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. or more in a physical environment.
  • Ability to perform tasks while bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching.
