About the position

The Environmental Projects Coordinator at San Jose Conservation Corps is responsible for supporting field crews and office staff in executing environmental projects. This role involves ensuring that crews are well-trained and prepared to deliver high-quality work in a safe and productive environment. The Coordinator will manage logistics, oversee project operations, and provide leadership to corpsmembers while promoting a culture of safety and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to field crews and office staff.
• Track daily attendance and job allocation for crews.
• Assist in training crew leaders and members.
• Perform project site visits and manage logistics for crews.
• Maintain tools and equipment and drive a company vehicle as needed.
• Provide safety training to new Corpsmembers during orientation.
• Communicate with project sponsors and contractors.
• Organize and lead a crew of Corpsmembers to complete projects efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with SJCC+CS policies on job sites.
• Complete administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of supervisory experience leading young adults or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of work experience driving with passengers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, and Slack.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in project management and leadership.
• Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual skills.
• Knowledge of safe working practices and first aid.
• Experience in trail maintenance, habitat restoration, or similar areas.
