About the position

The Administrative Medical Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing administrative, operational, and organizational support primarily to the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine. This position coordinates services across three hospitals and acts as a liaison for various administrative issues, ensuring smooth operations and compliance within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Administers or coordinates the administration of personal service or consultant contracts; ensures that contract provisions are met and that appropriate approvals are received.
  • Assist Department Chair with budget analysis and approval of Lawson orders.
  • Assist Chair/Vice Chair in reviewing, screening, interviewing applicants, and conducting reference checks.
  • Assist Department Chair with planning, preparing, and organizing clinical education programs; CE programs for department and hospital staff at on/offsite facilities.
  • Assist Department Chair/Vice Chair with labor relations and compliance staff issues to ensure departmental compliance with standard of care practices.
  • Collaborate with HR Recruiters on the recruitment process for Physicians/CRNAs and Techs.
  • Coordinates and maintains all coverage and schedules, including processing and credentialing of new staff.
  • Coordinates, develops, and administers correspondence, attendance minutes, agendas, and action items for the department.
  • Create and update the website of assigned divisions, including photos, bios, and fellowship information.
  • Represents the department and acts as a liaison between multiple departments, locum agencies, and outside vendors.
  • Manage all non-clinical aspects of the department, including planning, organizing, and overseeing daily operations.
  • Plans and conducts administrative or operational studies; prepares reports and makes presentations.
  • Plans, oversees, reviews, and performs a variety of administrative services in support of division, department, or agency activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Healthcare related experience.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Preferred: Five years or more of people management experience, particularly within anesthesia or perioperative medicine.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Perioperative care.
