About the position

The Administrative Office Assistant at the Center for Students with Disabilities provides essential clerical and administrative support services. This role involves in-person work on campus and requires effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. The assistant will perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, correspondence preparation, and visitor interaction, contributing to the smooth operation of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine administrative support duties including composing and typing correspondence.
  • Enter data into the computer system.
  • Prepare statements, memos, charts, and other documents.
  • Greet visitors and respond to or refer questions.
  • Answer and screen telephone calls.
  • Research and prepare statistical reports.
  • Organize and maintain a filing system and file correspondence and other records.
  • Make classroom announcements to hire agreement notetakers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and one (1) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Effective communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
