About the position

The Administrative Officer (Chief Operating Officer) position at the Pine Ridge Service Unit is responsible for overseeing the Operations Division of the health services provided at the Pine Ridge Hospital and its associated facilities. This role involves managing internal operations, ensuring compliance with health service regulations, and participating in long-range planning and resource allocation. The position reports directly to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and plays a critical role in the executive management team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in internal management operations and activities regarding organizational structure and functional operation.
• Outline goals, establish controls, and prepare management reports for Executive Staff and Governing Body.
• Review and recommend distribution of funds and utilization of resources for supervised departments.
• Serve as a member of the PRSU Executive management team in planning and implementing policies and directives.
• Supervise the Service Unit Operations Division.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, including administration of health services, program improvement initiatives, and personnel management.
• Experience in monitoring department budget submissions and budget accountability.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in oversight of third-party collections such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance.
• Knowledge of health information management services.
