About the position

The Administrative/Operations Manager at Johns Hopkins University will oversee the financial, administrative, and operational activities within the Energetics Research Group. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with university and government policies while managing resources effectively. The manager will collaborate with leadership to enhance operational efficiency and support program development.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee operations consistent with ERG, JHU, and US Government policies.
  • Evaluate and recommend facility and space needs as well as staffing requirements.
  • Assist in the development of new programs with internal and external collaborators.
  • Oversee financial management, forecasting, planning, and budget development for activities.
  • Assist IT Manager with IT and communications equipment for personnel and meeting spaces.
  • Direct oversight of financial, security, meetings, communications, and janitorial staff.
  • Manage job requisitions, hiring, termination processes, and performance improvement plans.
  • Oversee payroll administration and compliance with HR policies.
  • Manage ERG subscriptions, customer relations, and security vetting.
  • Oversee meeting personnel and manage logistics for classified meetings.
  • Liaison between ERG and the Engineering Business Office, ensuring continuity plans and space allocations are managed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional-level administrative or financial experience.
  • Master's degree in a related field may substitute for required experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters/MBA preferred.
  • Administrative, supervisory, and financial management experience in a university setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of JHU administrative and financial computing systems (JHU SAP).
  • Active DoD SECRET security clearance.
  • Experience in a DoD or Federal contract environment highly desirable.
