About the position

The Administrative Personal Assistant will work closely with the pastor, providing essential administrative and office support to ensure the efficient operation of the church. This role involves organizing communication and activities on a daily basis, assisting with various tasks that facilitate the ministry's goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the pastor
  • Assist with administrative duties within the church
  • Write and edit at a high level
  • Multi-task and understand the vision of the church
  • Knowledgeable of all ministry leaders and areas of ministry
  • Answer, screen and transfer inbound phone calls and emails for the pastor
  • Receive and direct visitors
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming mail and deliveries
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system
  • Assist the pastor with weekly organization
  • Schedule appointments for pastor and maintain his calendar
  • Communicate effectively with universities/pastors, etc.
  • Work with IT company to maintain computers and server
  • Provide social media updates for the pastor
  • Collaborate with design and printing companies for billboards, banners, etc.
  • Conduct research for senior pastor including biblical exegetical analysis, theological research, and biblical word studies
  • Identify and prepare sermonic illustrations
  • Identify literary materials relevant for sermonic content
  • Update and maintain pastoral library
  • Edit and proofread content for the Senior Pastor
  • Transcribe sermon content
  • Identify and communicate with publishing companies for books, pamphlets, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Greek and Hebrew
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet
  • Experience with Bible software such as Logos or Bible Works
  • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Exhibit a passion for ministry executed at a high level
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Computer literacy; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point
  • Ability to enter data efficiently, timely and correctly
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Well-developed verbal, listening, and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a team player
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to contend with a wide variety of people on various issues
  • Ability to work in a busy office with constant interruptions.
