About the position

The Administrative/Personal Assistant role involves supporting a small business owner in managing both administrative and personal tasks. The position requires a flexible schedule, as the assistant will work approximately 3-4 hours, two to three times a week, with varying days and times. The ideal candidate should be an experienced communicator and problem solver, capable of handling a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the home office.

Responsibilities

  • Help run the home office by performing administrative tasks.
  • Troubleshoot issues with service providers like Comcast, Verizon, and Yahoo.
  • Monitor bank account balances and communicate with the bookkeeper or tax preparer.
  • Relay messages to and from the web designer and other service providers.
  • Assist in improving the Yelp slideshow and maintain hard files.
  • Contact real estate professionals and tidy up file cabinets and shelves.
  • Order items on Amazon for the business and explore advertising costs.
  • Help with recertifications and business license communication.
  • Set up an apprenticeship program and suggest social media strategies.
  • Perform light cleaning tasks in the office and work vehicle.
  • Purchase groceries and handle daily office trash and recycling.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with various service providers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (1 year preferred).
  • Flexibility to work varying days and hours.
