About the position

The Administrative Program Specialist A position in the Business Office of District 62 involves performing responsible administrative functions and managing specialized departmental or statewide programs. The incumbent will act as the primary procurement assistant for district acquisitions, exercising independent judgment and initiative in non-routine situations. This role requires extensive knowledge of procurement and accounting policies, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary procurement assistant for district acquisitions.
  • Exercise independent judgment in non-routine situations.
  • Document and report all accounting activities in accordance with DOTD policies.
  • Participate in structured training programs and continuing education classes.
  • Manage operations of departmental or statewide programs, including fiscal responsibility for purchasing and budgetary reporting.
  • Establish, implement, and revise program standards and guidelines as necessary.
  • Coordinate program information by maintaining databases and generating reports.
  • Ensure program compliance with Federal and State regulations.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of DOTD procurement and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and relay information correctly.
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze and evaluate information.
