We are pleased to announce a countywide recruitment for the classification of Administrative Services Assistant III. As an Administrative Services Assistant III, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of diverse County departments, each playing a vital role in serving our community. This position offers exposure to various facets of public administration and the chance to collaborate with professionals dedicated to public service.

Responsibilities

  • Handling day-to-day fiscal, office management, personnel, purchasing, contracts, and other administrative functions
  • Working with budgets, contracts, and agreements
  • Conducting general research and collecting and analyzing data
  • Interpreting rules and regulations
  • Understanding generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
  • Applying data to department decision-making
  • Analyzing annual departmental budget requests and representing the department in budget discussions

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, public administration or a closely related field
  • Three (3) years of full-time experience or its equivalent in an administrative staff position performing administrative, budgetary or personnel analysis
  • Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in property and evidence management within a law enforcement setting
  • Experience in administering social service programs
  • Strong background in governmental administration, project management, contract and vendor oversight, and human resource practices
